Frequently Asked Questions

How does my policy pay out and when?

If you experience a covered loss, you submit a claim with the required documentation. Once the claim is reviewed and approved under the terms of your policy, payment is issued in accordance with your coverage and limits.

Do you inform Medicaid of my policy information?

We do not automatically report your policy or its details to Medicaid. Responsibility for disclosing assets or insurance coverage to Medicaid rests with the policyholder, their legal representative, or their estate, as mandated by Medicaid rules and state requirements. We will provide you with the necessary paperwork regarding your policy.

What if I want to change my policy later?

You may be able to make certain changes to your policy after it is issued, depending on the policy type, ownership, and whether it has been assigned to an irrevocable trust. Changes such as updating beneficiaries, ownership, or coverage details are generally allowed only if the policy is not irrevocably assigned. If the policy is irrevocable (such as Medicaid Legacy), changes are typically limited or not permitted, as the terms of the trust are designed to be permanent to qualify for Medicaid.
